One of my all-time favorite summertime (or spring, or fall for that matter) activities is going to a ballgame. And one of the best parts of living in the Twin Cities is having such easy access to the gorgeous Target Field.
I certainly haven’t been to every ballpark in the country, but I’ve been to a few, and Target Field is one of my favorites. And it seems I’m not the only one. Even though the Twins haven’t been great these past few years, every game I’ve attended has been packed. This past weekend Victoria and I made our way to the ballpark to watch the Twins play the Rays.
Fortunately for us, the great David Price was on the mound for the Rays.
Here he is again, delivering a pitch to hometown favorite Joe Mauer.
I feel confident saying Target Field has the BEST neon sign in all of baseball. A highlight of the game for me is watching St Paul and Minnie shaking their hands up and down when the Twins hit a home run or win the game.
Shaking for a home run
Here’s the sign again later in the game, when the neon was more prominent.
The great thing about baseball is even if the game isn’t terribly exciting (although this one was) you can always count on some quality people watching.
At the end of the night the Twins didn’t win, but they put up a fight against one of the best pitchers in baseball. And to be totally honest, the Rays are one of my favorite teams in the game so I wasn’t too upset with the result. It was a gorgeous night no matter how you slice it, and we were happy to have spent it at the ballpark.

I’d add a few other great things about Twins baseball at Target Field: free parking, no traffic before/after the game, a beautiful ball park. Nice post, loved the people pictures.
Had no idea Target Field was so unique. I will have to make sure I take in a game on one of my visits. Nice pics, Kate!
I love the Twins sign by day and night:)
Love all the photos!
